Born Again Through Shakespeare

Gwyneth Richards' recent theater performances include Eleanor of Aquitaine (The Lion in Winter), Emily Dickinson (The Belle of Amherst), Mistress Page (The Merry Wives of Windsor), Melanie Garth (Quartermaine's Terms), for which she received a Bay Area Critics' Circle Award, and the Countess of Rossillion (All's Well that Ends Well). For the past six years she has performed at the East Bay Literary Salon's annual Will's Day Event, where this show had its genesis, as have two other performance pieces she has written: Shakespeare's Women and The Hollow Crown: Shakespeare and Monarchy. Gwyneth has taught at A.C.T., California Shakespeare Theatre, and The College of Marin and been the dramaturg or Shakespeare acting coach for productions at Marin Academy, Shakespeare at Stinson, Cutting Ball Theatre, as well as a featured instructor for Theatre Bay Area. Her innovative "Shakespeare without Tears" classes have been popular with actors since 1986. Gwyneth is represented by JE Talent. |
